Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers. If something is not covered here, email us and we will add it.

What is QuipIQ?

QuipIQ is a decision-support tool for equipment resellers. It watches upcoming auctions, scores every lot against real sold comps, calculates your Max Bid (landed cost included), and tells you whether to BUY, WATCH, or SKIP. You do the bidding; QuipIQ tells you where the ceiling is.

Where does the data come from?

We ingest publicly listed auction lots and completed sales from platforms including AuctionTime, EquipmentFacts, HiBid, Purple Wave, BigIron, Freije, Equip-Bid, and Facebook Marketplace. Scoring uses closed-sale data — not asking prices — whenever enough comps are available.

How is the Max Bid calculated?

Max Bid is the highest number you can bid and still hit the ROI target in your strategy. The math works backward from the expected resale price, subtracts buyer premium, sales tax, estimated haul cost, and reconditioning so what you see is a true landed-cost ceiling — not just the hammer price.

What happens if an auction has no comps?

QuipIQ will not fabricate a score. If an item has too few real sold comps, we lower its confidence rating or flag it as insufficient evidence. In practice this means some lots get a WATCH or no call at all, rather than a confident bad guess.

How accurate are the estimates?

Expected Resale and Expected Profit are statistical estimates, not promises. The confidence rating on each opportunity tells you how much comp evidence stands behind it. Treat QuipIQ as a highly informed second opinion, not a guaranteed outcome. Review the Valuation Disclaimer for the full details.

Do I need a Chrome extension or bidding bot?

No. QuipIQ is a web application — nothing to install, nothing that interacts with auction sites on your behalf. You see the scored lot, decide what to do, and place your own bids on the auction platform.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime from your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access through that period. There are no cancellation fees.

Is my strategy private?

Yes. Your strategies, bids, inventory, and ledger entries are scoped to your account and not visible to other users. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve our models — details are in the Privacy Policy.

What happens after the paid beta?

Pricing may change when QuipIQ reaches general availability. Existing paid-beta subscribers keep their current rate for as long as their subscription stays active. You will get advance notice before any material pricing change applies to you.

How do I get support?

Email the team from our contact page. Response time during paid beta is within one business day.
